Back-to-School Night is an excellent opportunity for upper school parents to meet their child's teachers, learn about their classes, and ask questions. Let's get ready for school!
** There is a 5-minute passing period between each class. Study Hall will be in the Study Commons. |

| September 18 - Alumni Culture and Community Celebration | ||
|
The ESD Alumni Association invites you to attend our Alumni Culture & Community Celebration, featuring alumna Luisa Navarro '08, on Thursday, September 18, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at ESD! Luisa will be joining us to celebrate the launch of her debut book, Mexico’s Day of the Dead: A Celebration of Life Through Stories and Photos. Signed copies of her book will be available for purchase, and we'll have lunch bites, refreshments, and a special gift from CocoAndré, Chocolatier & Horchateria. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Luisa, learn more about the vibrant traditions of Día de Muertos, and celebrate her incredible accomplishment. All families are welcome to join us on the Fourth-Grade Outdoor Terrace on the third floor of the Lower School for our annual Ice Cream Social! Stop by for some great conversations and a sweet treat! |

| September 22-26 - Childhood Cancer Awareness Week | ||
|
T-shirts can be purchased from the TeamIzzy Foundation to wear in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Week. Using the button below, select "ESD" in the drop-down; please include the following information in the notes at checkout:
All shirts must be ordered by Monday, September 22 to be delivered on time. Shirts can be worn on Friday, September 26. Middle and Upper School students can wear uniform bottoms with a "Go Gold" t-shirt or any shirt that is majority yellow with uniform socks and shoes. |
Because of your generosity, our upper school Spanish students didn't just learn about Spain — they experienced it. Walking through historic streets, ordering meals in Spanish, and connecting with local culture turned their lessons into living, breathing knowledge. The trip enriched students and teachers, sparking a lifetime of cultural understanding and global citizenship.

As a replacement for the President's Volunteer Service Award, we are excited to share several new service award opportunities for upper school students. Courtney Phelps, Director of Community Service Learning, will host an informational session to answer students' and parents' questions regarding our new service awards on Friday, September 26, at 8:00 a.m. in the Zachery Bell Theatre. |
