Zoning Application Update
ESD's zoning application, Case No. Z-26-000117, was submitted on May 19, 2026. As shared and discussed in neighbor meetings during the 2025-26 school year, the zoning application submission was the culmination of a year-long master planning study. The school has appreciated the feedback and engagement of many in our community and the neighborhood through this process, and we look forward to continued engagement and conversations as we progress through the zoning process.
Next Opportunity to Learn More
Currently, the next neighbor meeting is scheduled for September 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Should our zoning case move through the initial stages of City review more quickly than expected, we will schedule additional meetings accordingly to ensure our neighbors have ample opportunity to understand all aspects of the rezoning request, ask questions, and share feedback. All meetings will be publicized on this site and notices will be emailed to the WHAA distribution list and to anyone who has requested to be included in ESD communications.

ESD typically hosts three neighborhood meetings each academic year. The dates for the 2026–27 school year are: September 16, January 20, and May 12. Meetings are on Wednesday evenings and last approximately an hour.
One week before the meeting date, ESD will send an email to our neighbor distribution list and via the Walnut Hill Neighborhood Association with meeting topics and a RSVP link. We ask that you RSVP for the meetings so we may plan accordingly on meeting location, light snacks, and beverages.
