Sky Watch, July

We've had a typical May in Dallas: chilly, hot, storms, and power outages. Hope everyone did OK! Graduation and Memorial Day have come and gone, so summer is about here. The Summer Solstice this year is on June 21. It's our longest day of the year, at around 14 hours.
Evening Skies: The Summer Triangle is in the northeast and moves straight overhead during the evenings. If you can get away from city lights this summer, you'll see the Milky Way running through it down to Sagittarius, at the center of our galaxy, far, far away!
Full Moon: July 29.
Morning Skies: In July, we'll also begin to see the Pleiades, Taurus, and other stars of the Fall and Winter rising!
Quarry/Outdoors: ESD's own version of Stonehenge! It's a wonderful way to learn about the skies and seasons, and helps me remember old friends!
