For Jamie and Jonathan Valz, the decision to support the Our Time to Soar campaign for The Episcopal School of Dallas stems from a simple objective: to help elevate the school to be "one of the best private schools in the country." This aim and their deep appreciation for ESD led Jamie and Jonathan to establish the Valz Family Endowment to support ESD’s faculty.
When considering the most impactful way to contribute, the couple was particularly drawn to the perpetuity of endowment funding. Jonathan notes that his wife, Jamie, who serves as a public-school teacher within Dallas ISD, provides them with a clear understanding of the most crucial component of any educational institution: its teachers. Together, Jamie and Jonathan affirmed, "through this endowment, we aspire to help ESD continue to recruit and preserve the best teaching talent in the state."
The motivation for this generous gift is deeply personal - it began the day the Valz family joined the ESD community. "We were so thrilled when our daughter was accepted that we always said that we would contribute in any way we can," Jamie and Jonathan shared. "She just glows when talking about being an ESD Eagle!"
Fostering positive student experiences underscores the value the Valz family holds for ESD's distinctive educational environment and reinforces their desire to contribute to its ongoing success. Allocating resources to support faculty is an important investment in the quality of education for current and future generations of ESD students.
"We hope that every parent knows just how lucky we all are to be able to send our children to a school like ESD," Jonathan advises, emphasizing a shared responsibility. "We should all do what we can to ensure ESD continues to thrive."
