For Scott and Jacquelyn Shensky, the connection to The Episcopal School of Dallas is a partnership built on shared values. “ESD has had a profound impact on our family,” says Scott Shensky. “We’ve seen firsthand how the school is a true community—students, families, faculty, staff, and administration all collaborating in a commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development. Supporting ESD by establishing The Shensky Family Endowment is our way of giving back and ensuring future students have the same transformative opportunities.”
Jacquelyn and Scott’s decision to establish an endowment fund was inspired by their daughter's journey. She has thrived at ESD, developing into a caring, inquisitive, and social young woman. “Her love for learning is a direct result of the values lived each day at ESD, the support from her teachers and coaches, and the opportunities that make this community so special,” Jacquelyn shares. “We want to do our part to ensure this legacy lives on for generations.”
The purpose of their fund is as thoughtful as the gift itself. Rather than earmarking it for a single purpose, the Shenskys have entrusted ESD's leadership to apply the funds where they are needed most. “We trust the leaders and Board members to know the best ways to use the funds given their tremendous commitment to the needs of the students, teachers, and staff,” the couple explains. “Knowing that our family fund will be used to support the overall growth of ESD in many ways for years to come gives us so much joy.”
When asked what advice they would offer to others, Jacquelyn and Scott emphasize the unique nature of the school. “ESD is a very unique and special place,” they state. “One of the most meaningful ways we can give back is by ensuring the legacy of this extraordinary institution—one that has partnered with us in nurturing and shaping our child’s growth. It is critical that this legacy continues to thrive for many generations to come.”
With great pride, the family has created The Shensky Family Endowment to help ESD remain one of the best independent schools in the country. “Our daughter is proud to be an Eagle, and we are proud to be ESD parents,” Jacquelyn and Scott conclude. “We want to be a part of ensuring that The Episcopal School of Dallas legacy continues to grow.”
