Film Studies
Our Film Studies program encourages students to step behind the lens and not only understand, but better appreciate film as an art form. By first learning the history of film and studying its major directors, students build a foundation for analyzing film techniques that they later use to produce their own films. |

Annual ESD Film Festival
Upper school film students hosted their eighth annual Film Festival on May 23, where they screened a variety of works they have created during the 2023-24 school year with their peers. From start to finish, these students assume the roles of screenwriter, camera operator, director, producer, viewer, and cinematographer to ascertain and execute their many creative visions.
