ESD Alumna, Emily Lichty ’22, named Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Northwestern

We are thrilled to share some incredibly exciting news about ESD alumna, Emily Lichty '22!
Lichty, a rising senior at Northwestern University's prestigious Medill School of Journalism, has been named the next editor-in-chief of The Daily Northwestern, the university's esteemed newspaper. This remarkable achievement is a testament to her dedication and journalistic prowess.
Lichty's journey at The Daily Northwestern has been impressive, having previously held key roles, including the arts and entertainment editor, print managing editor, opinion editor, and Best of Evanston editor. Her diverse experience and leadership qualities make her an exceptional choice for this prestigious position, which she will assume during the Fall Quarter of 2025 and Winter Quarter of 2026, succeeding Lily Ogburn.
In addition to her new leadership role, Lichty is also gaining valuable professional experience this summer as an intern at NBC, where she is writing for The Today Show's website.
