The Episcopal School of Dallas is thankful for the Elizabeth Tichenor Greening Endowment Fund for Tuition Assistance. This endowment permanently honors Elizabeth Greening’s memory and the special place she held in the ESD community. It's a legacy that will continue to inspire and empower students for years to come.
"When Elizabeth passed," Robert recalls, "our family knew we wanted to honor her memory in a way that truly reflected her spirit. ESD was a huge part of her life, and she believed deeply in the transformative power of education."
We shared a vision: to ensure that deserving students, regardless of their financial circumstances, could experience the exceptional education ESD offered. We understood the profound impact a school like ESD could have on a young person's life, and wanted to open those doors wider.
"Our children, William and Camille, received an incredible education here," Robert explained. "We saw firsthand the opportunities ESD provided. We wanted to extend that same opportunity to others, to children who might not otherwise have access to such a remarkable experience."
And so, the Elizabeth Tichenor Greening Endowment Fund for Tuition Assistance was established from the generous outpouring of memorial gifts from the ESD community and a grant from the Iris and Lloyd Webre Foundation. The gifts were not just donations; they were a continuation of Elizabeth's life's passion, a way for her legacy to flourish, to touch the lives of future generations."
This endowment is a tangible expression of our family’s commitment to ESD's mission. "It's about more than just academics," Robert emphasized. "It's about the character, the values, the sense of community that ESD fosters. Elizabeth understood that, and we're honored to be able to help ensure that other children can experience that same transformative journey."
A powerful reminder of one woman's dedication and a family's enduring love, the Elizabeth Tichenor Greening Endowment Fund for Tuition Assistance, in its essence, is a gift of opportunity. It's a chance for bright, promising students to learn, grow, and thrive within the supportive and enriching environment of ESD. It's a testament to Elizabeth's unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives.
The Our Time to Soar campaign is inspired by the strategic plan ESD 2030, which aims to add significantly to the school’s endowment, all as further investment in ESD’s people and programs. To date, we have raised $37,000,000 toward our goal of $50,000,000.
