Brooke and Jonathan Adamson P'31, '35 Support ESD's Dedicated Faculty

Brooke and Jonathan Adamson P'31, '35 share a deep appreciation for the impact The Episcopal School of Dallas has had on their children. They see firsthand how the school and its community touch student lives in significant ways. This gratitude was the driving force behind their decision to establish The Adamson Family Endowment.
When reflecting on what inspired them to give, Brooke and Jonathan explained, “We wanted to show our appreciation to the school and community that has played a significant role in shaping our kids' development." Jonathan added, "Besides one’s home, I can’t think of another place outside of school that will have such an influence on a child’s eventual success and role as a contributing member of society."
For our family, giving to the endowment was a way to invest in what we believe is the most crucial part of the school: the faculty - knowing that teachers are on the front lines, working to fulfill ESD’s mission to "ignite lives of purpose."
"A good teacher does not just convey information; he or she can inspire students to uncover passions they never previously knew existed," Jonathan shared. Fundamentally, the difference between an excellent teacher and an average teacher can quite literally alter the trajectory of a child’s life.
Brooke and Jonathan benefited from excellent teachers in their own lives, and feel it is a privilege to help ensure that ESD can attract and retain the best possible educators. Their gift is a testament to their belief that supporting top-tier faculty is one of the most important goals for anyone who cares about the school's future.
Brooke and Jonathan’s advice to potential donors is simple and powerful. They encourage families to consider the immense bearing a school has on their child's life and invite them to ask two simple questions:
"Is it worth making a sacrifice to maintain (or even enhance) what ESD can offer? And am I financially able to contribute?"
If the answer is yes, there is no time like the present to make a lasting difference.
