Next up in our September series celebrating alumni who've returned to ESD as full-time faculty and staff is Megan Boyd Schroeder '09, who wears two hats on campus as Assistant Director of Admission and Cheerleading Program Director/Head Coach.
Finding Where You Belong
For Megan, ESD shaped more than her résumé — it shaped how she understands herself.
ESD has helped me, as a student and an adult, find my passions, know what is important to me, and figure out how I learn and work best," she says.
That understanding now drives her work in Admission, where she helps prospective students and families find their own place at ESD. "Working with students and families to find a place they belong" is what feels most meaningful to her.
The ESD Foundation: Room to be More than One Thing
For Megan, the highlight of her ESD experience was never having to choose just one identity. As a student, she was heavily involved in athletics (cheer), yearbook, and academics — all at once.
I didn't have to pick what I wanted to be when I was at ESD," she says. "I feel that daily as an employee as well.
Her favorite ESD tradition is the Homecoming Pep Rally — fitting, given her role leading the cheer program.

Purpose: The People
When asked about the best part of working at ESD, Megan's answer is simple: "The people."
Outside of ESD, Megan spends her time with her husband, Jordan, and son, Boyd.
