A Legacy of Learning: A Grandparents' Gift to The Episcopal School of Dallas

For grandparents, Sandra and Doug Boulware, the decision to give to The Episcopal School of Dallas was deeply personal. "It was our grandchildren," shared the Boulwares. "They absolutely love ESD. Seeing their joy and excitement about learning, about their friends, and about their teachers, made us want to be a part of that."
As former public-school educators, both Sandra and Doug understand the power of community and the impact of dedicated teachers on a student's journey. With firsthand knowledge of the differentiation that engaged parents and grandparents make in a school's performance, they were drawn to support the strong, collaborative educational community found at ESD.
The opportunity to contribute to ESD's endowment resonated on a fundamental level. "The idea of giving to the endowment appealed to us because it's a way to support the school and, in turn, enhance our grandchildren's learning experience, not just for today, but for the long term," Doug explains. "It's a way to ensure that the things students love about ESD—the excellent teachers, the enriching programs, the vibrant campus life—will continue to thrive for generations to come."
Sandra and Doug’s advice to others considering an endowment fund is simple and heartfelt. "What better investment in our community, than a school that loves and develops its students at a very high level?"
