FAQs:

Who will receive an invitation?

All grandparents' of students in grades Beginner through twelfth grade who are already in our database will receive an invitation. If you want to confirm that your child's grandparents' and grandfriends' receive an invitation, please email Development Associate, Kamaile Frank at frankk@esdallas.org or call 214-353-5808 with grandparents' and grandfriends' mailing information, their email address, student's name, and relationship to student.

Where are the ESD campuses located?

The Lower School is located at 4344 Colgate Avenue. Valet service will be available at the Porte Cochere and North Parking Lot. Click here for a parking map.

The Middle & Upper School Campus is located at 4100 Merrell Road. Guests will arrive on the Montwood Lane (south) side of campus and check-in at the Stephen B. Swann Athletic and Wellness Center. Click here for a parking map.

Parking is very limited. Please utilize the complimentary valet service.

Who is invited to this event?

Grandparents and grandfriends of Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School students are invited. We respectfully ask that parents attend only if grandparents require mobility assistance and remember that students may also be having normal classes during the event.

Parents who would like to volunteer for the day may contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 214-353-5795.

What should guests wear?

We recommend that guests wear comfortable, warm clothing and shoes. Guests will be walking around campus with their students.

How do you define a grandfriend?

We understand that not all students have grandparents and that some grandparents will be unable to attend. We encourage these students to bring another special older adult – a family friend, or another relative, such as an aunt or uncle.

Where should guests park?

Lower School - Valet service will be available at the Porte Cochere and North Parking Lot.

Middle School – Valet service will be available at the Montwood entrance off of Midway road.

Upper School - Valet service will be available at the Montwood entrance off of Midway road.

We strongly encourage you to utilize the free valet service due to the limited parking spaces on both campuses.

When should guests arrive?

Lower School: Please arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. to  to get a cup of coffee before heading to Chapel.

Middle School: Please arrive between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. to connect with your grandchild(ren) before heading to Chapel. The students will not be available to meet grandparents until 1:00 p.m.

Upper School: Please arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. to connect with your grandchild(ren) before heading to their first class.

Where is the permission slip for Lower School student dismissal?

Lower School students must have permission to leave school with their grandparent or grandfriend following the morning's activities. To give permission, please use this link to the google sheet created.
