4th Grade Leadership

As the school year draws to a close, current fourth-grade students prepare for the move to middle school at the Merrell Road campus. Throughout the year, fourth-grade students have participated in a Leadership Institute.  The program concluded with ESD seniors leading our fourth-grade students with a day full of team-building exercises, design challenges and collaborative activities all with a focus on leadership and legacy.

ESD Goslings

This week around ESD, we have started to see the geese out more and now they have their babies! These babies have just hatched and are beginning to learn how to live. It is very exciting to see them grow and develop, and the students love to watch them!

All Around the World

Yesterday, AP World History students celebrated finishing their entire text book with a world food party. Each student brought food from a different region and it was a great way to relax and recognize all the work we have done this year!

Cum Laude SociESDty

Seventeen students from the Class of 2018 were inducted into the prestigious Cum Laude Society. The Cum Laude Society recognizes students who have achieved superior academic achievement and promote excellence (Areté), justice (Diké), and honor (Timé). Congratulations to our inductees!

Last Senior Buddy Day

Seniors and their fifth-grade buddies wore their college gear today to celebrate where the seniors are attending college on their last "Senior Buddy" day. It won't be long before the fifth-graders are representing their own college choices!

Wolf Run Joint Trip

Yesterday, a joint Middle and Upper School environmental science field project took place at Wolf Run. The goal was to
conduct a massive soil and water analysis of Wolf Run and document on a map the overall results of this analysis. Pictured here are the seniors working with fifth-graders, showing them how to conduct soil and water test. I am so proud of our hard-working students for working together and demonstrating leadership!

Outside Algebra

One of the sophomore Algebra 2 classes decided to have class outside today as they complete their review packet before their upcoming test. Students sat in pairs to either work together or by themselves with their teacher, Mrs. Oujezdsky, nearby to help answer any questions.

Signing Day!

ESD celebrated five more student-athletes today who have officially committed to play their respective sports at the collegiate level.

Congratulations to Brandon Meaux '18 who will be playing lacrosse for Georgetown University, Braden Rhone '18 who will be playing lacrosse for Washington and Lee University, Sophie Saland '18 who will be playing tennis for Johns Hopkins University, Michelle Shen '18 who will be playing tennis for Wellesley College, and Patrick Skalniak '18 who will be playing lacrosse for the United States Naval Academy.
