At CityTerm, we are doing a week-long project where we study the Brooklyn bridge and make a creative element to go along with it!! On Thursday we went to the bridge to walk it and understand it better.

Babies R' Us

Student Author: Carly Weisberg '18

To help us to understand the terms we are learning in our unit on Developmental Psychology, students were given toy babies with an egg inside (so the teacher will know if they drop it!) to be with them around the clock for 24 hours. This is coupled with a detailed log about what you and your baby do together, what type of parent you are (authoritative, permissive, authoritative), and several other questions that not only emphasize child development through assignments, but also serving as an important lesson in the vital role of parenthood.

ESD Book Club

Student Author: Allison Herring '19

Last week, ESD Book Club members had the amazing opportunity to Skype with Lisa Wingate, the New York Times best selling author of Before We Were Yours.  We read the book as our February book and then were able to Skype her during lunch to ask her all of our questions. I can't wait to see what else Ex-Libris has in store!

Baa Baa Brain Sheep

Student Author: Shelby Stansbury '18

A couple of weeks ago, we dissected a sheep’s brain in AP Psychology. We got to identify the different parts we were learning about and see something similar to our own brain. It was really cool to be able to see what we were learning about in real-life and not just from a picture!

4th Grade Visit to Merrell Road

Faculty Author: Office of Admission

Our Fourth Graders are having fun learning about Fifth Grade at the Middle and Upper School Campus and eating lunch with their fifth-grade buddies! They are so excited to be here next year and become big middle schoolers. We also had multiple siblings that were united on one campus! When asked what they loved about their visit today, they said:
"It’s really fun"
"More freedom"
"It’s really big"
"Food is amazing!"
"More classrooms and teachers"
"Have more options and choices"
"Love how you have chickens"
