Eagles Following Their Dreams

Student Author: Val Mooty '20

In late July, I went on a week-long trip to Nashville to finish writing and record a song I had been working on. I flew up and stayed with Billy Dawson, an up and coming country singer/producer who works out of Nashville! This was one of the most fun weeks of my life since I love music and all we did for a week was record songs. We also made videos with James Reyner, a filmmaker who works out of Florida, for my original song “Home” and my covers of the songs “Everything has Changed” and “Skinny Love”. To top it all off, I got to play a couple of songs at the Grand Ole’ Opry, which was an experience I won’t ever forget!

Here is a photo of me playing at the Opry!

Read more about Val's experience and see his music video in this GuideLive article

For AP students taking AP tests, they are allowed to leave school before lunch on the day before their exam to study. Some of the AP World History class decided to go to Barnes & Noble where the teacher (Mr. Salz) was willing to answer questions and help! Good luck everyone!
