Last library project of the year -- and it is a good one! :) Thank you Ms. Vining's 6th grade history class! WHY did your topic give the United States an advantage in World War II or HOW do we see the impacts of your topic today?? :)
Congratulations Virginia on winning the 7th grade English award and the March Madness Poetry competition. We adore your poem and are honored to display it in the library!
Gravy, oh my gravy,
With your curves, you are so wavy,
I eat you with my meat, I eat you with my beef,
Oh how you make my tastebuds jump.
In the daytime, I know it’s a crime,
But I’d eat a gallon full of you all at one time.
But, in the nighttime, it doesn’t feel very nice,
You offer yourself to the hungry little house mice.
Though many people see your outer, darker colors,
With my taste I’m able to see your shining inner colors.
The tastes swirl up flavor in my mouth,
Then, right through my throat you travel down south.
Through hate and love,
Through war, or peace shown like a dove,
I eat you, and you make me feel so able,
And I know you’ll always be there sitting on my table.
We love having your work in the library! Thank you Ms. Purdy!!
