ESD ALUMNI GOLF AND TENNIS TOURNAMENTS
Save The Date: April 20, 2018
The Episcopal School of Dallas Golf Tournament is hosted by the Alumni Association and benefits the Mary Elizabeth Williams Endowed Alumni Scholarship Fund. Last year, we added a tennis tournament and combined forces with the ESD Booster Club Tournament! We had a record turnout and look forward to working with the Booster Club in years to come!
Mary Elizabeth Williams arrived as a student at ESD in the fall of 1976 and graduated with the school’s third class in May of 1982. Mary was an excellent student and an active member of the student body participating as an acolyte, cheerleader, Secretary of Student Council, co-editor of the literary magazine Itinerary, and President of the Junior Classical League.
Mary returned to ESD shortly after graduating from Southern Methodist University and taught in the Middle School. Her charm, grace and enduring spirit epitomize everything an ESD student should be. As a teacher, Mary was an inspiration to her students, a well-respected colleague, and a loyal friend. We remember her daily in our hearts and prayers since her passing.
The Mary Elizabeth Williams Endowed Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 to keep Mary’s name forever associated with ESD and reward outstanding students of alumni who might otherwise be unable to afford the experience and education of The Episcopal School of Dallas. All alumni proceeds from this tournament benefit this fund.Since its inception in the fall of 2003, the golf tournament has provided annual contributions to the scholarship endowment. The tennis tournament provides annual contributions to the scholarship endowment as well. To date, the corpus of the endowment has grown to over $350,000.
