Seventy-five students from the class of 2016 earned 221 scholarships, totaling over $11 million.
When applying for scholarships, there are several important things to keep in mind:
- Research all of your colleges to see what merit scholarships they offer internally. Many colleges offer scholarships given automatically based on your internal admission rating, with no extra applications involved. Almost all colleges also offer top merit scholarships, with lengthy application processes.
- There are also outside scholarships available, but do your research! Many of these have time consuming applications and award smaller amounts of money.
- BE AWARE OF YOUR DEADLINES. Many colleges have a scholarship or “priority deadline” which differs from their regular admission deadline.
