Earlier this semester, Animation Club students were visited by animators who worked on Kung Fu Panda and Ice Age films. Students got to listen to the animators describe their process, as well as view their reel and application videos for the films. We are so thankful to these artists for sharing their time and knowledge with our students!
"When I joined the Animation Club, I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to understand the technicalities," said one student. "But, it's been way more intuitive than I would have expected."
Animation Club has also worked on a multi-media, Christmas-themed short titled "A Christmas Miracle." The animation follows a Christmas tree as he loses the item he loves most: his ornament. As he ventures to find his ornament, he discovers the true meaning of Christmas. Watch the video here.
The club has extended to include three types of animation, 2D, 3D and stop motion, instead of simply working with 3D, like they did last year. They created this animation as a way to demonstrate all the different techniques they've learned working with these three kinds of animation. As the Christmas tree tries to find his ornament, he discovers new worlds created with different types of animation. While the short is still a work in progress, they wanted to share this trailer to showcase what we've accomplished this year and embrace the Christmas spirit.
