The Episcopal School of Dallas Fine Arts Department has been selected to represent the United States in the American High School Theatre Festival taking place at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2019.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which takes place every year during the first three weeks of August in Edinburgh, Scotland, is the world's largest arts festival and plays host to thousands of performances from professional, collegiate, and other acting troupes from all over the world. For the past 20 years, the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) has showcased the finest in high school theater during this exciting festival. Top high school theater programs from across the country are nominated and then must undergo a rigorous application process before final selections are made.
"We are honored to have been chosen by the Board of Directors of the American High School Theatre Festival and can't wait to start preparations for next summer's adventure," says Fine Arts Department Director, Dusty Davidson.
Upper School students who are chosen to represent ESD during the AHSTF at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe will rehearse a production during the summer of 2019 before heading to Scotland. The students will then have the opportunity to perform that production four times during the festival to an international audience.
Congratulations to the Fine Arts Department on being selected for this incredible opportunity!
