A dry, cool April...but thunderstorms are on the way. Cottonwood seeds drift like snow on the wind...Swifts and Swallows returning...May is here!
Evening Skies :
Spring stars are high: The Big Dipper, Arcturus, Leo the Lion. Venus is the brightest object in the evening sky. It's in the west after sunset
Full Moon on the 29th.
Saturn and Mars are in the south, rising around midnight near Scorpio. Jupiter is bright, but low in the west. It will soon move on to become an evening star in the east, opposite Venus.
April at the Quarry:
Egrets, Barn Swallows, Wood Ducks, and a little Sandpiper who just visits about once a year....on his way from Padre to Canada! (drawing below)
Take a break and head outside when you can.......PKL
