One of ESD's Founding Tenets is service, and it's always a joy to see that demonstrated in our students. Over Christmas break, Henry Watson '20, William Blair '20, and Jack Loftus '20 traveled out to Lantana, Texas to work on a toy drive project with the Sadie Keller Foundation.
The organization was founded two years ago by Sadie Keller, a 10-year-old leukemia patient, and her family. When Sadie was discharged from the hospital right before Christmas, her concern wasn't focused on her own health, but rather focused on whether or not Santa would remember to deliver presents to her friends at the hospital. The Foundation originally started as a toy drive for Children's Hospital, but over the past two years has grown exponentially. This year, they collected over 10,000 new gifts and expanded to include four hospitals as recipients.
Watson was so inspired by the work that he decided to film the operation and create a video for the Sadie Keller Foundation. Click here to see his video. Great work, Eagle!
