In honor of Grandparents and Grandfriends' Day, a beloved school tradition, The Episcopal School of Dallas is grateful to announce a generous multi-generational gift from the Gerald J. Ford Family Foundation. The $2,000,000 gift will support building an innovative new Lower School on the Merrell Road Campus. Family donors include ESD grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald J. Ford, current parent Mrs. Amy Ford Prestidge, current parent Mr. Jeremy B. Ford '93, Mr. Jordan Ford, and Mrs. Maegan Ford Nicholson '98.
"ESD has played an important role in our family," said Gerald J. Ford. "With several of the next generation now enrolled, we anticipate the same positive role in the future."
His children affirmed his belief.
"As an alum, ESD was very impactful to the formative years of my life and holds a special place in my heart," said Jeremy Ford '93. "I believe its faith-based, family-oriented, and nurturing environment combined with an exceptional education will best prepare future generations of Eagles to realize their full potential."
Maegan Ford Nicholson '98 continued, "It makes me happy to know that the next generation at ESD will be able to enjoy the nurturing environment that was so meaningful to me in my time as a student there."
Amy Ford Prestidge summed the family's commitment. "We are excited to invest in the future of ESD and its students. The Lower School is critical in developing the foundations for learning. We believe the new Lower School will strengthen those foundations and provide our children with even more success in their academic career."
The Campaign for The Episcopal School of Dallas, which was publicly announced on September 22, 2017, is founded on a thoughtful and strategically phased plan that will bring ESD's shared vision to life. It has three priorities: increasing the endowment for greater sustainability, uniting the community on one campus by building an innovative new Lower School, and affirming today's educational experience through the Annual Fund. To date, more than $45,000,000 has been raised toward the $75,000,000 goal.
