Sky Watch November

.....Halloween is here! It's a "cross quarter day," the halfway point from the equinox in September to the solstice in December. We've had some nice fall days in the last week, and leaves are beginning to turn!

Evening skies: Saturn is low in the southwest after sunset. Winter stars begin to rise around 10 and the constellation Cassiopeia (which looks like a W) is right overhead this time of year.
Full Moon on the 3rd.

Morning skies: Venus is bright and low in the east, and the winter stars, Orion and company, are high in the south before dawn.
Jupiter will join them as another "morning star" for Thanksgiving.

Quarry/Outdoors:
Monarch Butterflies are still fluttering through, but most summer birds are gone.
Hawks are all over the place, often being chased by Bluejays....Photo below shows one attacking a Red Tailed Hawk at the Quarry!

November is a great time of year to get outside when "The world is too much with us" ..............PKL
