This year, The All American High School Film Festival (AHSFF) launched a new endeavor to showcase talented high school student-photographers around the country. Students could submit their work for consideration in the 2017 Photogfest competition, where the official selections were then displayed at an art gallery in New York City during AAHSFF in early October before the final winners were announced.
Out of only 40 photos that were officially selected nationwide for Photogfest, four of those were taken by ESD students and two went on win their categories for the entire competition. Carly Weisberg '18, Emma Boeckman '19, Shae Bass '18, and Sophie Saland '18 were all honored for their photography work with Shae and Sophie each taking home a win in their categories. Shae won Best Studio Photo for her piece "Religious Conflict" and Sophie won Best Abstract Photo for her piece "Taylor."
