Both ESD's school newspaper, Eagle Edition, and literary magazine, Itinerary, have been announced as finalists for the Crown Awards by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA).
The Crown Awards honor top middle school, high school, and collegiate student publications chosen from CSPA's members, and Eagle Edition and Itinerary were chosen out of 1,100 eligible publications from the 2016-17 academic year. During Crown consideration, publications are judged on their excellence as shown by their design, photography, concept, coverage and writing. Congratulations to Hockaday and St. Marks, too, who are also finalists in both categories.
All finalists for the Crown Awards are winners, but some publications will be announced as Gold Crowns at the CSPA ceremony in New York City next March.
Congratulations to our hard-working journalism and literary students on an incredible honor!
