Mason Gosslee '19 & Christian King '19 placed 4th at the prestigious Stotesbury Cup Regatta to lead ESD. Entered in the junior double competion, Gosslee and King placed 3rd out of 28 in 5:29 in their first heat to qualify for the semi final where they took 2nd in 5:43. In the final they raced fast finishing in a 5:07. E.L. Crossley won the event in 4:54 followed by Blessed Trinity, Malvern Prep, and Holy Spirit.
The Girls Senior quad of Izzy Harrington '18, Katelin Gildersleeve '19, Jensen Clardy '17, and Katie Smythe '18 placed 5th overall as they rowed a 5:15 in the final. Conestoga won the event followed by Western Albermarle, St. Michael, and Ridgewood. In their first heat the quad came in 5th out of 19 in 5:38 and they rowed a 5:14 in the semi final as they finished 2nd out of 6.
The Boys Senior quad of Tommy Hessel '17, Niko Gies '17, Bryce Miltenberger '19, and Grant Hemingway '17 had the 7th fasted time on the water as they rowed a 4:43 but failed to progress to the final as they finished 4th in their semi final, just behind Haddon Township, Roman Catholic, and Conestoga. In their first heat they were 7th out of 19 in 5:03.
Stotesbury is rowed in Philadelphia, PA and had 191 schools competing with 5,679 athletes on 984 boats.
