The Crew Team captured seven medals at the US Rowing Central Youth Championships held in Oklahoma City. The Eagles took home 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. The team came in 6th out of the 20 plus teams competing. 1000 athletes representing 400 crews participated.
Katelin Gildersleeve won gold in the varsity single as she came in 21 seconds ahead of the second place rower. By her performance she has qualified for the Youth Nationals to be held in Sarasota, FL in June. Katelin won a second medal as she partnered with Katie Smythe to take silver in the varsity double. This tandem has also qualified for the Youth Nationals by their finish.
Two other gold medals were won by the second quad of Mason Gosslee, Christian King, Patrick Kerrigan, and Will Beck. Gosslee and King also took second place in the second double.
Three bronze medals were won by both Men's and Women's first quads. Niko Gies, Grant Hemingway, Tommy Hessel, and Bryce Miltenberger rowed the Men's while Gildersleeve, Smythe, Jensen Clardy, and Izzi Harrington rowed the Women's. The Novice quad of Arthur Lindh, Gerrit Parker, Owen Aston, and Henry Isom also won a bronze medal.
Congratulations! Ten athletes will now represent ESD at the Stotesbury Regatta in Philadelphia, PA in two weeks.
