The Boys' Lacrosse Team took down Jesuit 7-5 to remain undefeated. On a beautiful night and in front of a large crowd, ESD and Jesuit treated the spectators to a great lacrosse game. At the end of one quarter it was 3-2 ESD with goals by Brandon Meaux, Nakeie Montgomery, and Patrick Skalniak. Jesuit would tie the game in the second quarter and the score would stay 3-3 at intermission.
In the 3rd quarter Skalniak's two goals were sandwiched by a Jesuit tally to set up the 4th quarter with the score 5-4 ESD. Meaux would make a nice move and beautiful feed to Michael Colpack on the back pipe at 8:47 for the Eagles 6th goal. At 2:03 Jesuit would find the back of the net but Meaux would score his third goal assisted by Skalniak with just 8 seconds remaining to put the game away.
Trey Bender and John Heldman did an outstanding job as they controlled 11 of the 16 draws. Carson Raney and Paxton Marks both came up with some key ground balls, slides and takeaways. Prescott King was again clutch in the goal when needed and also had some terrific passes clearing the ball. At the end of the game a supportive ESD student section charged the field to celebrate the victory with the team.
ESD will now play on Sunday in Allen in the super regional against an opponent yet to be determined.
The ESD seniors and their parents were honored at halftime. The class of 2017 is a special one for Head Coach Kennedy as this group has not only never lost an SPC game but also won 4 SPC Championships.
