All School Admission Preview

Sunday, December 2, 2018
4100 Merrell Road

Lower School: 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. (adults only)
Middle and Upper School: 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. (adults and students)

The Admission Preview is an opportunity to learn all about ESD. The afternoon will provide an overview of our academic programs, insight into our class offerings and outstanding faculty, tours by our Student Ambassadors, as well as information on athletics, fine arts, student life and our outdoor education program. Lower School Admission Preview: 1 - 2:30 p.m., adults only

12:30 p.m. : Registration Opens
This will take place in the Susan M. Frank Building for Arts and Humanities (located directly behind the football stadium). We will have ESD Parent Ambassadors present to check you in to receive a name tag and light refreshments and snacks will be served.

1:00 - 1:45 p.m. : Program
The program will include the opportunity to hear from Dave Baad, Head of School, Lower School leadership and students. It will highlight our curriculum, testing philosophy, and provide an overview of the new Lower School building.

1:45 - 2:30 p.m. : Optional Tour of Merrell Road
It is an exciting time to be an Eagle! Feel free to stick around to hear about our Episcopal Identity and take a tour of our Merrell Road campus, led by Upper School Student Ambassadors and Lower School Faculty to learn more about our Middle and Upper School and the home of our new Lower School building, opening August 2019.

 

Middle School Admission Preview: 3 - 5 p.m., adults and students

2:30 p.m. : Registration Opens
This will take place in the Susan M. Frank Building for Arts and Humanities (located directly behind the football stadium). We will have ESD Parent Ambassadors present to check you in to receive a name tag, program and Group Rotation number (we will keep families together) and light refreshments and snacks will be served. Wheel throwing will be working on a community service project to feed the hungry if you would like to go in and observe or learn more about the class.

3:00 - 3:20 p.m. : Welcome
This welcome session will highlight our Episcopal Identity and provide the opportunity to hear from students and Dave Baad, Head of School.

3:25 - 4:40 p.m. : Four Interactive 15-minute Rotations
Group rotations, based on the grade you are applying to, will be held in multiple locations across campus covering: STEM, English, History, Modern Language, Fine Arts and Athletics. Each group will be led through all rotations by ESD Student Ambassadors. 

4:45 - 5:00 p.m. : Wrap Up Session with ESD Division Heads
This session will cover our advisory system, rotating schedule, curricular highlights and Q&A.

Join us over coffee to hear from ESD leadership, followed by an optional Middle and Upper School campus tour to learn more about the Hallmarks of an ESD education. Student Visits

We offer Half-Day Shadow Visits for applicants in grades five through 11 and classroom visits for applicants in grades two through four.

Beginner applicants will be contacted by the Office of Admission to schedule a visit. Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, Primer and grade 1 applicants will visit on their test day. 

Once you have submitted your child's application, you may schedule a student visit through Ravenna. Dates will continue to be added as necessary. For more detailed information on Half-Day Shadow Visits, click here.

Class of 2023 and Applicant Community Service Event

We invite 9th grade applicants to join our current 8th grade class on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 21 from 1:30 - 3 p.m.) to work side-by-side on a variety of community service projects. You can register for the event in your Ravenna dashboard.
