Join us for a week of nothing but boy fun! Come and hang out with ESD's Mike Schneider (the world’s greatest handball player) to play sports and games on the Merrell Road campus. We play tons of sports and games, and even make up new ones! Work up a sweat then cool off on the water slide. It is pure fun at its best! Campers need to bring a lunch, bathing suit, and towel.

ALL GIRLS, ALL THE TIME

Week 7 | Entering Grades K - 4 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Join us for a week of girl fun! Students will have a great time cooking, playing games, learning cheers, dancing, creating art, and playing on the waterslide. It will be a week you do not want to miss! Campers need to bring a lunch, bathing suit, and towel.

AMAZING RACE

Join us for a week traveling around the world! Each day we will face a variety of challenges in a different country, Amazing Race style. We will immerse ourselves in that country for the day and enjoy games, foods, crafts, culture and more! Time will be allotted for the water slide as well as daily games and free time in the gym. Campers need to bring a lunch.

BABYSITTING CERTIFICATION

Week 1 | Ages 11 - 17 | 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. | $75

Learn how to be a safe, responsible, and great babysitter. Students will not only learn the ins and outs of babysitting, but also get certified in CPR and First Aid. The course is taught by instructors from "It's Breathtaking". This is a one day class.

BUILD AND BOOST

Week 8 | Ages 8 - 12 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | $135

Fastforward Kids is merging the best in Lego bricks and coding with the wonder of building.  Build and Boost makes coding and building a great activity. So, what will you build and boost?  Learning to code with Build and Boost gives children the opportunity to use a physical problem-solving tool in their coding exercises.  Their code comes to life in ways they can see, hear, touch, and even chase across the room.  Through real-life STEM challenges and engaging physical and digital creations, this camp encourages children to develop 21st century skills through coding as they program solutions in a real-world context. Make new friends, build creative projects, code it, bring it to life and embrace what is soon to be one of the fastest growing technological career fields. This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.

Girls and boys will enjoy working with wood and various tools to enhance eye-hand coordination as they become familiar with the design process to create hands on projects. This class fosters respect for tools/ materials (hammers, nails, paints) while learning the value of cooperating with others. CAMP INVENTION

This year’s modules are:

Mod My Mini Mansion™ Campers will dream up and design their very own futuristic smart home filled with gadgets, LED’s, technology and innovation! Campers will make their own take-home mini mansions and explore renewable sources to power up their eco smart homes, discover the Internet of Things and how smart devices are connected and controlled and change letters into numbers using binary code to create a message. 

Robotic Pet Vet™ Animal shelters are reporting that malfunctioning robotic dogs have been popping up all over town!  Throughout this module, campers diagnose puppy problems and design and build dog parks as they hammer out ideas for the best dog park attraction. Campers will Use tools to take apart robotic dogs and compare their inner mechanics to the anatomy and physiology of a real dog, analyze simple machines and circuits used to make the dog move, bark and light up and customize their own robotic dog to take home! 

Optibot™ Campers will launch into the future with their own Optibot – a small self-driving bot that senses changes in light.  Exploring the technology behind transportation, children will design the ultimate futuristic vehicle that might one day be reality! Campers will design tracks for their bots to follow while exploring different modes of transportation, explore impact sensors using a small-scale crash test dummy and discover how sensors are used in vehicles and personalize their own line tracing robot to take home! 

Stick To It™ Campers will invent something new every day as they explore what it is like to be a physicist, engineer and entrepreneur.  Your young innovator will invent, make and craft solutions to real-world challenges by building their own prototypes and discovering that anything is possible. Campers will make their own dancing dinosaur using a mechanical gear box in the “Dance to Your Own Beat” challenge, build a plush cupcake catapult in the “It Will Be a Piece of Cake” challenge and explore chemistry, non-Newtonian fluids and magnetism as they investigate magnetic slime.

CIRCUS ARTS

Circus Arts Camp is a camp experience designed to introduce children to circus, performing, and visual arts in a safe and noncompetitive environment. Any level of physical development & skill is welcome.  Your camper will receive circus arts instruction and have the time of his or her life learning to perform with silks, special hoops and loops. Each camper will also learn the art of magic, balloon art and will get all fancy with clown face painting.  It’s the greatest camp on Earth and your child can be part of the fun! This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.

COMPUTER CODING IS FUN!

Week 10 | Entering Grades 2-4 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Calling all budding computer programmers! We will introduce your child to the essential building blocks associated with object oriented programming through creating interactive stories and games. Campers will begin the week learning software-building basics through Scratch, a platform created by MIT. By the end of the week, children will have created their very own multimedia project. Students will self-select their project each session. This camp is intended for those with little or no experience with Scratch or coding.  Campers need to bring a lunch.

A camp filled with all the things every youth needs and wants to “create” the perfect summer. Campers get to combine the best of five different camps offered by Fast Forward Kids. Our “creative” staff provides the instruction and all the materials for everyone to complete a day full of projects. Your child will embark on a day creating projects with Lego, learning the art of survival with survival tactics, theater arts, music, and art projects and techniques. Children will benefit by promoting self-esteem, motivation, aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity. CR8 helps students to see what they look at, hear what they listen to, and feel what they touch. The focus of this creative camp is to express feelings through imaginative, innovative and original arts and skills. This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.

DROBOTS DRONE STEM CAMP 1: DRONE RACING AND OBSTACLE COURSE CHALLENGE

Week 9 | Ages 10 - 14 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | $350

Drone Racing is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest

growing sports, Drone Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Flight squads post up against one another in friendly competition when they race themselves and the clock. Students first maneuver the drone through creative obstacle courses before taking on the challenge of flying for speed. Participants contribute fully in this program as they create the design and help build the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activities and competition. DROBOTS DRONE STEM CAMP 2: DRONE MISSION MANIA

Week 10 | Ages 10 - 14 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | $350

It’s all about drone missions as campers will learn the basics of drone technology and safety before taking to the air to fly and code the drones through an abundance of missions. Throughout the week, instructors will pose various challenges that the campers must solve using drones. Missions include: Connect 4, Drone Basketball, King Kong, International Space Station Drone Docking, Harry the Hiker, and more. Students work all week long to prepare for the most enjoyable part of the week: the Ultimate Drone Games where students collaborate, strategize, and create their own drone missions and then compete against one another. Participants will use the SWIFT programming language to accomplish many of these missions. EINSTEIN BY DESIGN - AERIAL PHOTO

Week 8 | Entering Grades 4 - 8 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | $350

Einstein by Design’s Flight and Aerial Photography Workshop will involve completion of two main projects that involve flight. In the first half of the workshop, you will build rockets out of paper and launch them outdoors with our compressed air rocket launching pad. You will test different wings, nose cones, and rocket bodies to examine the engineering factors that determine how high a rocket will launch. In the second half of this workshop, you will build a rig to take aerial photography of nearby surroundings, and then create a digital storybook relating your experiences to share with your family and community. You will also be able to make your own camera, and explore geometric optics concepts in physics through photography. Campers need to bring a lunch.

EINSTEIN BY DESIGN - AUTOMOTIVE

Week 7 | Entering Grades 4 - 8 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | $350

This camp for beginning and advanced students alike will cover physics concepts related to car design, including aspects of aerodynamics, brakes, tires, and steering. Students will get a look into the design and optimization of various vehicle subsystems through an understanding of related physics concepts. Kids have heard of driver-less cars, but do they know how the automobiles are programmed? We explore machine learning design and programming, along with Bluetooth technology to create a remote control car each student will design and take home at the end of the week. Campers need to bring a lunch.

EINSTEIN BY DESIGN - WEARABLES

In this week-long camp, fashion, technology, and textile skills collide in a Project Runway meets Hackathon extravaganza. This intensive and innovative program for youth combines the latest fashion industry-specific information and technology with traditional textile craft making to encourage a well-rounded camp experience. Participants will experience full days of project-based learning in textile construction techniques, draping, illustration, knitting, dyeing, computer-aided design, and textile engineering. Students apply cross-discipline craftsmanship and put on an end-of-camp fashion show to exhibit their new creations. Campers need to bring a lunch.

FANCY NANCY

If you yearn to be dazzled by all things French, then this camp is for you! From dynamic artwork to a très elegant tea party, you are sure to be astounded as we travel through all of the Fancy Nancy books. (Astounded is another word for amazed). Come be a member of the Explorer Extraordinaire Club! Time will also be allotted for outdoor play, games and water slide. (This camp was adapted from the Fancy Nancy books, written by Jane O'Conner). Games are a great way to teach and reinforce math, reading, following directions, strategy, cooperation, and so many more critical skills. Get ready for a summer full of Fun and Games! Prepare for a week of all things girl! Movin' and Groovin' Monday will be filled with dance-offs, talent shows, and music. Touch of Art Tuesday will be filled with super-fun art projects. On PJ Wednesday wear your pajamas and our day will be filled with ideas and crafts to prepare for your next slumber party. Throwback Thursday will be spent playing games and making crafts that we older girls grew up with. Fashion Friday will end our week making fashionable accessories that your camper can take home! This camp offers a fun and exciting activities that will not only teach your child healthy eating habits but will also help further develop their fine and gross motor skills through various hands on culinary activities. Students will learn how to make healthy snacks, and develop healthy eating habits. They will be introduced to the science of eating and energy conversion, how we categorize food into macronutrients and why some food is better for our bodies than others. Campers need to bring a lunch.

ITTY BITTY BOOK CLUB

Enjoy children’s books with art activities, creative drama, Word Wall and Pajama Day! Join Nancy Elliott as she shares her favorite books and love of reading…from classics to best sellers. Students will keep a journal as they learn about authors, illustrators, and characters. Past activities have included a nature walk, tea party, and watercolor masterpieces. From Blueberries for Sal to Where the Wild Things Are, this camp has something for everyone! Time will also be allotted for outdoor play and water slide. Campers need to bring a lunch, swimsuit, and towel.

JUNIOR ENGINEERS

Week 8 | Ages 8 - 12 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | $135

Junior Engineers will bring your child into a creative and engineering environment that will develop him/her into a junior engineer! Hands-on construction is learned and executed with our special and unique Lego Engineering kits not found in stores. With our certified educator and detailed technical plans,; your child will learn how to build robots, race cars, four-by-four trucks, cranes, pulleys, levers and much more. Your child will participate in an energized week of discovery, motivated by creativity, fun and success. The junior engineer will expand his/her knowledge in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in an exploratory, cooperative environment. This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.

LITTLE MEDICAL SCHOOL

Week 9 | Ages 6 - 12 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | $300

Little Medical School encourages children to role play and explore the exciting world of medicine. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how the body works and how to use instruments that real doctors use. Children will learn how the heart and lungs function. They will know the importance of proper first aid care, learn about the brain and spine, about how the digestive system works and discuss the importance of medicine safety.  They will learn how to scrub in for surgery and how to suture and tie surgical knots. Children will be able to show and name the major bones in the body, and much, much more! Little Medical School Summer Camp is a fun and hands on class. Each child will receive a diploma as a graduate of Little Medical School upon completion of the course. Each camper will take Home a stethoscope, first aid kit, brain and spine model, organ and skeleton sticker sets, bone and eye model and much more!

LITTLE MEDICAL SCHOOL PK

Little Medical School® PK encourages early elementary school children to role play and explore the exciting world of medicine. Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how their body works and use instruments that real doctors use.  Students learn why a doctor does an exam and how a stethoscope works.

Students learn about the heart, how it works, and what it looks like. They will perform various exercises that produce movement to a variety of muscle groups.  Students will make their own x-ray of their hand and learn how to cast a balloon.  They will learn how to keep bones healthy and strong.  A face mask and gloves will make students feel like real surgeons as they learn proper hand washing and scrubbing.

LITTLE VET SCHOOL

Week 9 | Ages 6 - 12 | 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. | $300

Little Veterinarian School encourages elementary school children to role play and explore the exciting world of veterinarians.  Using interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and use instruments that real veterinarians use.  Children will learn how to complete an assessment of a dog and will know the importance of proper care and nutrition to keep dogs healthy.  They will know what to do if a dog gets hurt and how to care for them, learn safety rules for being around animals and discuss what radiographs are and what the light and dark shades are on a radiograph.  They will learn about pesky parasites and how to treat animals. Little Veterinarian School Summer Camp is a fun and hands on class. Each child will receive a diploma as a graduate of Little Veterinarian School upon completion of the curse. Each camper will take home a stuffed dog, dog bone cookie cutter, dog bowl and much more!!

MINI CHEERLEADING

Our goal is to build the self-confidence in each girl as they learn basic cheerleading jumps, cheers, dances, stunts, and other fun activities! At the end of camp we will have a performance for families and friends to come and see all that we have learned. Cheers! Campers are asked to bring a healthy snack and provide their t-shirt size. This camp meets Wednesday-Friday.

MRS. MCVEIGH'S MANNERS

Week 3 | Ages 6 - 11 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | $210

Does your child need to improve his or her manners while still having fun? Then send him or her to a Mrs. McVeigh's Manners camp. This unique and original curriculum will cover traditional topics such as meeting and greeting, appearance, setting the table, table manners, restaurant manners, and non-traditional behaviors such as how to stop a bully. Kids love the role-playing, worksheets, and games! See why hundreds of parents have been so delighted with how much their children retain with the Mrs. McVeigh's Manners program! Children need to bring a lunch, bottle of water, and disposable napkin each day.

NUMBER FUN

Week 7 | Entering Grades PK - K | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Number Fun is designed for young children to build their math foundation through games and manipulatives in a fun and engaging way. This class will be hands on as we play Bingo and work with cards, dominoes, and Legos.  Number recognition, counting skills, and math vocabulary will be emphasized. Campers need to bring a lunch.

SENSATIONAL SUPERHEROES

Week 4 | Age 4 - Entering Grade 1 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Calling all superheroes… Can you leap buildings in a single bound? Run faster than lightning?  Make villains melt into thin air?  We will create our own superhero identities complete with capes, masks, and other superhero necessities. Math and language skills will be reinforced as we measure how high we can jump, create stories for our superheroes, and more. We also will become real life superheroes as we complete a service project to help others. Campers need to bring a lunch.

SHAKE AND SHOUT FOR SCIENCE

Weeks 2, 3, 9, and 10 | Ages 4 - 7 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

This camp will explore a new scientific theme each day! Watch things bubble, fizz and change right before your eyes with fun, hands-on experiments and activities! You will take home a science journal filled with the details of each experiment. Join us for a week of fun with science! Time will also be allotted for outdoor play, games and water slide. Campers need to bring a lunch.

SPANISH LANGUAGE CAMP FOR KIDS

Week 8 | Entering Grades PK - 1 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Join ESD's Angie O'Brien for a week of Spanish immersion. Come and learn Spanish while enjoying summertime fun! We will spend each week immersed in an exciting part of the Latin American world. Campers need to bring a lunch.

SUMMER FUN

Week 5 | Ages 3 - 4 | MWF 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and TTH 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Summer Fun sessions are uniquely designed for campers three and four years of age (must turn 3 before June 25). Preschoolers will enjoy organized activities such as arts and crafts, story time, music, and playground games! Children must be potty-trained and ready for group activities. Campers need to bring a lunch. Snacks are provided. On Tuesday and Thursday, the children will have a brief quiet time and may choose to bring a blanket and/or pillow.

TECH DETECTIVES

Week 7 | Ages 4 - 7 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | $220

Computer Detectives get your magnifying glass ready and lets solve different cases at places like Cyber Space, Network Neighborhood and Keyboard Castle!  Detectives will unlock new, beneficial ways to use technology to be productive and solve meaningful problems.   Important S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) skills are introduced as they learn keyboarding, technology, reading and writing. They also have so much fun doing fun hands on projects to go along with the lessons. Internet safety lessons are incorporated as well. In addition, we integrate critical thinking and creative components throughout the software, giving them many opportunities to express themselves within the adaptive, personalized nature of the lessons.

Week 10 | Entering Grades 5 - 8 | 9:00 a. m. - 12:00 p. m. | $200

Your voice deserves to be heard! Students will learn the art of persuasion through a range of speech and debate styles such as Lincoln Douglas debate, Public Forum, and extemporaneous speaking. Anyone interested in public speaking, argumentation, current events, or writing would enjoy this camp. This session will also prepare interested students for competing in tournaments throughout the school year. Students will have fun while developing and fine-tuning their critical thinking and presentation skills!

WORLD OF DISCOVERY

Week 8 | Ages 4 - 7 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | $135

Enter a world of discovery using the fun of Hot Wheels and Play Doh. Children will discover a world of physical science utilizing endless Hot Wheel’s tracks and obstacle courses. If Play Doh is your style then children can engage in the past, present, and future as they mold volcanoes, animals, food and the solar system. With Hot Wheels children will learn momentum, force, and friction as cars acrobatically fly before them. Measuring length and weight in various units will help in the identification of the fastest, most efficient car on the block. Mega Loop Mayhem, Shark Cliff Hanger, Wolf Mountain, and hundreds of cars are just some of the play equipment that will have your child yearning to come each day! With Play Doh, children develop social development and artistic creativity while engaging in a very moldable way! This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.

YIPPEE YI YOGA

Week 2 | Entering Grades K - 4 | 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. | $125

Let's play yoga! Students will learn yoga poses and breathing techniques through yoga stories and games, develop strength and flexibility, and increase focus and confidence. Each class will end using student made lavender-scented eye pillows to relax the body and calm the mind to encourage a feeling of peace.

YOUNG BUILDERS

Week 8 | Ages 5 - 7 | 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. | $135

The only limitation is the mind of the young builder.  In our Young Builders program children are engaged in creative activities with “zillions” of pieces of Lego pieces.   This ensures that there is always enough Lego for everyone. This innovative program for Lego builders provides opportunities for imagination and hands-on learning under the guidance of a certified educator. Over 15 new games, projects, and activities not found in stores will be planned and engineered. Enrichment in the areas of personal creativity, following instructions, eye-hand coordination, problem solving, critical thinking and learning will be experienced as your child can construct dinosaurs, rockets, castles, airplanes, forts, cars and much more. This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.
