ALL GIRLS, ALL THE TIME

Join us for a week of girl fun! Students will have a great time cooking, playing games, learning cheers, dancing, creating art, and playing on the waterslide. It will be a week you do not want to miss! Campers need to bring a lunch, bathing suit, and towel.

AMAZING RACE

Weeks 2 and 3 | Entering Grades 1 - 3 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Join us for a week traveling around the world! Each day we will face a variety of challenges in a different country, Amazing Race style. We will immerse ourselves in that country for the day and enjoy games, foods, crafts, culture and more! Time will be allotted for the water slide as well as daily games and free time in the gym. Campers need to bring a lunch.

BABYSITTING CERTIFICATION

Week 1 | Ages 11 - 17 | 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. | $75

Learn how to be a safe, responsible, and great babysitter. Students will not only learn the ins and outs of babysitting, but also get certified in CPR and First Aid. The course is taught by instructors from "It's Breathtaking". This is a one day class.

CALLING ALL CONTRACTORS

Girls and boys will enjoy working with wood and various tools to enhance eye-hand coordination as they become familiar with the design process to create hands on projects. This class fosters respect for tools/ materials (hammers, nails, paints) while learning the value of cooperating with others. Splash time, daily recess and building with materials including Legos ensures a fun experience! Campers need to bring a lunch.

CAMP CREATE

Week 5 | Age 4 - Entering Grade 2 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Bring your creative camper to draw, paint, sculpt, build, sing, dance, and act. Campers will engage in a variety of hands-on activities using a wide range of materials to explore their artist within. Plan to get messy, have fun, and meet new friends. The sessions will culminate with a short drama production to showcase the week. Campers need to bring a lunch.

This year’s modules are:

Mod My Mini Mansion™ Campers will dream up and design their very own futuristic smart home filled with gadgets, LED’s, technology and innovation! Campers will make their own take-home mini mansions and explore renewable sources to power up their eco smart homes, discover the Internet of Things and how smart devices are connected and controlled and change letters into numbers using binary code to create a message. 

Robotic Pet Vet™ Animal shelters are reporting that malfunctioning robotic dogs have been popping up all over town!  Throughout this module, campers diagnose puppy problems and design and build dog parks as they hammer out ideas for the best dog park attraction. Campers will Use tools to take apart robotic dogs and compare their inner mechanics to the anatomy and physiology of a real dog, analyze simple machines and circuits used to make the dog move, bark and light up and customize their own robotic dog to take home! 

Optibot™ Campers will launch into the future with their own Optibot – a small self-driving bot that senses changes in light.  Exploring the technology behind transportation, children will design the ultimate futuristic vehicle that might one day be reality! Campers will design tracks for their bots to follow while exploring different modes of transportation, explore impact sensors using a small-scale crash test dummy and discover how sensors are used in vehicles and personalize their own line tracing robot to take home! 

Stick To It™ Campers will invent something new every day as they explore what it is like to be a physicist, engineer and entrepreneur.  Your young innovator will invent, make and craft solutions to real-world challenges by building their own prototypes and discovering that anything is possible. Campers will make their own dancing dinosaur using a mechanical gear box in the “Dance to Your Own Beat” challenge, build a plush cupcake catapult in the “It Will Be a Piece of Cake” challenge and explore chemistry, non-Newtonian fluids and magnetism as they investigate magnetic slime.

CHALLENGE ISLAND- SLIME SQUAD

Are you slime crazy? Do you love making squishy, squeezy stuff? Then Challenge Island® Slime Squad Camp is the place for you! You and a tribeful of friends will dive into a new slime-filled world every day, from alien ooze to ghostly goo to monster muck to lava, too. Our interplanetary tribes will take on a galaxy-full of movie inspired challenges including building spaceships, designing droids and launching lunar rockets. CHALLENGE ISLAND- WIZARDRY

Calling all muggles for Challenge Island® Wonderful World of Wizardry Camp! Our wizarding tribes will take on spellbinding STEAM challenges from designing magic wands to building Hogwarts’ castle to mixing up mystical potions. CHESS FOR THE ADVANCED PLAYER

Learn the more intricate devices and tactics from Mr. B. Simply put, learn how to beat your dad or mom at chess. If class size permits, we will invite a national level instructor.

COMPUTER CODING IS FUN!

Weeks 2 and 10 | Entering Grades 2-4 | 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. | $265

Calling all budding computer programmers! We will introduce your child to the essential building blocks associated with object oriented programming through creating interactive stories and games. Campers will begin the week learning software-building basics through Scratch, a platform created by MIT. By the end of the week, children will have created their very own multimedia project. Students will self-select their project each session. This camp is intended for those with little or no experience with Scratch or coding.  Campers need to bring a lunch.

PI IN THE SKY

Week 3 | Ages 9 - 14 | 9:00 a. m. - 12:00 p. m. | $300

Curious about computers and programming, or interested in building really cool things? Pi in the Sky is a camp based on the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi is a credit card-sized computer and is a great starting point for learning about programming. It’s low-cost, capable, and approachable for kids new to the concepts of programming. During the week, we will use Scratch to learn some basic programming fundamentals. Also we will learn about the Raspberry Pi while doing some hands on projects. Some project ideas include a weather station, a parent detector, a music streamer, or Minecraft for Pi - another way to learn the basics of programming. Everyone will take home a Raspberry Pi 3 Complete Starter Kit and a few good ideas!

Week 8 | Ages 5 - 12 | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. | $200

A camp filled with all the things every youth needs and wants to “create” the perfect summer. Campers get to combine the best of five different camps offered by Fast Forward Kids. Our “creative” staff provides the instruction and all the materials for everyone to complete a day full of projects. Your child will embark on a day creating projects with Lego, learning the art of survival with survival tactics, theater arts, music, and art projects and techniques. Children will benefit by promoting self-esteem, motivation, aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity. CR8 helps students to see what they look at, hear what they listen to, and feel what they touch. The focus of this creative camp is to express feelings through imaginative, innovative and original arts and skills. This camp is taught by an instructor from Fast Forward Kids.

DROBOTS DRONE STEM CAMP 1: DRONE RACING AND OBSTACLE COURSE CHALLENGE

Week 9 | Ages 10 - 14 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | $350

Drone Racing is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest

growing sports, Drone Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Flight squads post up against one another in friendly competition when they race themselves and the clock. Students first maneuver the drone through creative obstacle courses before taking on the challenge of flying for speed. Participants contribute fully in this program as they create the design and help build the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activities and competition. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. DROBOTS DRONE STEM CAMP 2: DRONE MISSION MANIA

Week 10 | Ages 10 - 14 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | $350

It’s all about drone missions as campers will learn the basics of drone technology and safety before taking to the air to fly and code the drones through an abundance of missions. Throughout the week, instructors will pose various challenges that the campers must solve using drones. Missions include: Connect 4, Drone Basketball, King Kong, International Space Station Drone Docking, Harry the Hiker, and more. Students work all week long to prepare for the most enjoyable part of the week: the Ultimate Drone Games where students collaborate, strategize, and create their own drone missions and then compete against one another. Participants will use the SWIFT programming language to accomplish many of these missions. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets so the memories last long beyond the summer. From dynamic artwork to a très elegant tea party, you are sure to be astounded as we travel through all of the Fancy Nancy books. (Astounded is another word for amazed). Want to unplug your kids for a week this summer? At Fun and Games camp, we are going to play a variety of board, card, trivia, word, thinking, memory, and outdoor team games. Each day campers will also use their creativity and game knowledge to create their own games to take home and play with their families and friends. Games are a great way to teach and reinforce math, reading, following directions, strategy, cooperation, and so many more critical skills. Get ready for a summer full of Fun and Games! FUN FOR GIRLS

WORLD OF DISCOVERY

Endless tracks and obstacle courses await every Hot Wheel’s car lover as they discover the world of physical science. What goes up must come down…or does it? Momentum, force, and friction are just some of the concepts they will understand as cars acrobatically fly before them. Measuring length and weight in various units will help in the identification of the fastest, most efficient car on the block. Mega Loop Mayhem, Shark Cliff Hanger, Wolf Mountain, and hundreds of cars are just some of the play equipment that will have your child yearning to come each day! Hot Wheels Rock!

ITTY BITTY BOOK CLUB

Enjoy children’s books with art activities, creative drama, Word Wall and Pajama Day! Join Nancy Elliott as she shares her favorite books and love of reading…from classics to best sellers. Students will keep a journal as they learn about authors, illustrators, and characters. Past activities have included a nature walk, tea party, and watercolor masterpieces. From Blueberries for Sal to Where the Wild Things Are, this camp has something for everyone! Time will also be allotted for outdoor play and water slide. Campers need to bring a lunch, swimsuit, and towel.

MINI CHEERLEADING

Week 1 | Grades K - 4 | 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. | $125

Join ESD's cheerleading coaches and varsity cheerleaders and come release your energy at a camp where jumping and yelling is encouraged! Our goal is to build the self-confidence in each girl as they learn basic cheerleading jumps, cheers, dances, stunts, and other fun activities! At the end of camp we will have a performance for families and friends to come and see all that we have learned. Cheers! Campers are asked to bring a healthy snack and provide their t-shirt size. This camp meets Wednesday-Friday.

SENSATIONAL SUPERHEROES

Calling all superheroes… Can you leap buildings in a single bound? Run faster than lightning?  Make villains melt into thin air?  We will create our own superhero identities complete with capes, masks, and other superhero necessities. Math and language skills will be reinforced as we measure how high we can jump, create stories for our superheroes, and more. We also will become real life superheroes as we complete a service project to help others. Campers need to bring a lunch.

SHAKE AND SHOUT FOR SCIENCE

This camp will explore a new scientific theme each day! Watch things bubble, fizz and change right before your eyes with fun, hands-on experiments and activities! You will take home a science journal filled with the details of each experiment. Join us for a week of fun with science! Time will also be allotted for outdoor play, games and water slide. SUMMER FUN

Summer Fun sessions are uniquely designed for campers three and four years of age (must turn 3 before June 25). Preschoolers will enjoy organized activities such as arts and crafts, story time, music, and playground games! Children must be potty-trained and ready for group activities. Campers need to bring a lunch. Snacks are provided. On Tuesday and Thursday, the children will have a brief quiet time and may choose to bring a blanket and/or pillow.
