Two Alums Deliver Call to Action at Destiny Award
Staff

The 22nd annual Destiny Award Luncheon, benefiting St. Philip’s School and Community Center, featured a conversation with NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, moderated by another NBA standout, Avery Johnson, and the presentation of the Mona and David Munson Humanitarian Award. ESD Eagles in attendance noticed other familiar faces as part of the ceremony. Trenton ’08 and Tristan Wesson ’08 delivered the Call to Action, sharing their stories as a kickoff to raising over $1.2M for the event.

The Wesson’s former basketball coach, Corey Henderson, remarked, “It was great to hear from them and for others to know the great impact that [ESD] has on both current and former students. I love the fact that they are carrying the things learned here forward, giving back, and imprinting their own student-athletes with the blueprint.”

Frequent attendees at ESD alumni events and games, the Wesson brothers now work at All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth with ESD’s former football coach Aaron Beck.
