Last year, it was announced that ESD had been selected to represent the United States in the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF). Twelve total students, including both cast and crew, performed the production four times during the festival to an international audience - once to a sold-out crowd.

The group also attended eight other student productions, one professional play in London, and visited numerous historic locations. Students were able to see sights such as the Kelpies, Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, and more while learning about history and theatre. "These students got to experience something that is likely once-in-a-lifetime," Lauren Redmond '01, Upper School Fine Arts Teacher, said. "They rehearsed hard before we left, pounded the pavement in Edinburgh and spoke to numerous people to get the word out about our production, had audiences at all four shows, and supported some of the many other schools that were there for the same reason. They learned something new every single day and in the end, they can call themselves international performers."

Please note, this play is recommended for children ages 14+ due to sensitive content.
