How long have you been at ESD?

20 years.

What's your favorite class or project?

"I love projects where students can look back and see their growth."

What's your favorite spot on campus?

"The Quarry."

What's your favorite candy or sweet treat?

"Dark chocolate."

Did you always know you wanted to be a teacher?

"Yes and no. I've always taught people my whole life. I was going to law school when I realized I wanted to be a teacher. My grandmother was the most phenomenal teacher, and I never realized I wanted to follow in her footsteps. Her favorite was teaching children to read, and my favorite is teaching students that they can read."

Fun Fact.

"I love working the scoreboard at my son's baseball games."

Hobby.

"Reading."

What do you love about ESD?

"The people. My students and colleagues. The commitment to an Episcopal Identity with diversity, equity, and inclusion allows us to look at every individual and see them for who they are and love them. The root is that every student is made in the image of a loving God."

What's 1 tip you would give to students?

"Give yourself and others grace. Be honest and kind. Understand that teachers are your biggest advocates."
