How long have you been at ESD?
5 years.
What's your favorite class or project?
"The Dallas Innovation & Exploration Project. I love it because the kids really lead the project, and after we do a lot of research, they go with what stands out to them. It ends up becoming a passion project for each one of them. It’s really fun to see the different directions they go with."
What's your favorite spot on campus?
"Third-grade outdoor neighborhood."
What's your favorite candy or sweet treat?
"Snickers."
Did you always know you wanted to be a teacher?
"No, I went to undergrad for pre-med. My whole life, I thought I was going to be a doctor. Junior year I took an education course to help my little brother with school, and I loved it! I did the America Reads program as a works study job, and it was my first time working with kids. I didn't end up going to med-school and came to ESD instead."
Fun Fact.
"I've climbed 5 mountains."
Hobby.
"Art- drawing and painting."
What do you love about ESD?
"The people. The kids and my coworkers are what make this the best place."
What's 1 tip you would give to students?
"Do what scares you because it’s in those situations that we grow and practice courage."
