Anneke Albright, Upper School Chemistry Teacher
How long have you been at ESD?
What's your favorite class or project?
"Chemistry is my favorite because it's my bread and butter. I love the ghost project because I love spooky season, and I have the students create and decorate tombstones for a presentation about their scientist. It opens their eyes to different and diverse scientists."
What's your favorite spot on campus?
"I like to walk about campus, so I don't have one spot that I love."
What's your favorite candy or sweet treat?
"Nerds ropes and sour punch straws. But for sweet treats, I really like anything chocolate."
Did you always know you wanted to be a teacher?
"Yes, I've always been teaching kids kinesthetic things since I was 15 and have always been really successful at it. I have a long career in swim lessons and coaching. I love high schoolers academically because their moral compass is fascinating!"
"I am a semi-talented vocal artist with voices."
"I like to paint, color, and draw. I paint my house a lot and do home improvement projects!"
What do you love about ESD?
"The kids, they're just really cool kids. And the compassion of my co-workers and the young students is really touching."
What's 1 tip you would give to students?
"Pay attention to how you learn, the more you figure out your learning style, and as soon as you find your way and capitalize on it, you’ll become so much of a better student!"
