In honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and the National Day of Service, older elementary, middle, and upper school students and teachers joined together for Operation Gratitude's letter-writing campaign. Each message expresses appreciation for the service and sacrifice of heroes like first responders, service members, and veterans and will be bundled into Operation Gratitude Care Packages and distributed. To participate, community members stopped by tables set up by Director of Service Learning Courtney Phelps outside of the lunchroom this week or delivered letters to her office.
"We are happy to honor those who give so selflessly to protect our communities day in and day out," said Mrs. Phelps. "We hope these notes of appreciation help Operation Gratitude reach their goal of delivering every care package to service members and first responders with a personalized note."
