November Sky Watch Report with Mr. Lutken
Staff

Sky Watch November... Made it to Halloween in spite of the tornado and chilly wet weather!! Hope everyone is OK.

This a "cross-quarter day," the halfway point from the equinox in September to the solstice in December..... and leaves are beginning to turn!

Evening skies:  Jupiter is low in the southwest after sunset, followed by Saturn in the south. Venus will start to show up with them later in the month.

Winter stars begin to rise around 9 and the constellation Cassiopeia (which looks like a W) is right overhead this time of year.

Full Moon on the 12th.

Morning skies:  Orion and company are high in the south before dawn. The Big Dipper is up in the northeast.

Quarry/Outdoors:

Monarch Butterflies are still fluttering through the storm damage, and the Quarry is a little beat up, but alive and well.

Photo is a Great Blue Heron at the Quarry. Saw one hunting there just days after the tornado!

November is a great time of year to get outside when "The world is too much with us" ..............PKL
