First Place: Mrs. Wilder, Fourth Grade
Earlier this month, first through fourth-grade students participated in the Mathletics "March Mathness'' competition. Students completed assigned activities or competed in live challenges on the Mathletics website, a fun and free online math game site. Class scores were reported daily and the bracket winning class advanced to ESD's next round at the end of each week. We also had several students ranked among the top in the nation at various points throughout the competition!
"Because we weren't able to finish last year's challenge due to COVID, this year's challenge was extra special for both me and the students," said Lower School Math Coach Zora Skelton. "We celebrated every student's participation with a March Mathness sticker and special treats from SAGE."
Second Place: Mrs. Frenzel, Second Grade
This year's Mathletics March Mathness scores:
-
First Grade Total Points = 306,588
-
Second Grade Total Points = 225,998
-
Third Grade Total Points = 242,199
-
Fourth Grade Total Points = 313,498
- Total points for Lower School = 1,088,283!
Congratulations to ESD's first-place winner, Ms. Wilder’s fourth-grade class, and second-place winner, Mrs. Frenzel’s second-grade class. The final two classes enjoyed sweet “mathematical” treats prepared by our SAGE family. Fun fact: four students in Mrs. Wilder's winning class were also in Mrs. Crook's class which won the 2019 March Mathness competition!
Top-scoring students will be recognized with Mathletics Certificates at the Lower School Honors Assembly on May 14. Proud of you, Eagles!
