Our Classical and Modern Languages Department Chair Jenn Jarnagin has been selected as the keynote speaker for the Illinois Classical Conference Latin Pedagogy Workshop held virtually on December 3. Jenn will discuss “Moving Forward in the 21st Century Latin Classroom: How Systems-Thinking Can Help Us Regroup, Reset and Refresh,” investigating ways in which we can make meaningful change and leverage community goals, values, and resources to build more inclusive, equitable schools. She has taught Latin for 13 years (6 of them at ESD) and is passionate about making Classics accessible to all students.
In addition to this honor, for the second year in a row, Jenn was selected as one of 10 Latin educators invited to present in the Diversity & Inclusion in the Latin Classroom series hosted by Cambridge University Press. Over the nine-day series, Jenn will co-present three different lectures on a variety of topics.
We are thankful to have outstanding educators and learners like Jenn representing ESD across the country. Proud of you, Eagle!
