ESD’s first-ever Global Night was held in the Commons on November 6. Global Night opened with a presentation led by teachers and administrators on the Global Competency Council, along with students who participated in the featured programs.
The presenters shared about ways ESD was involved in the local and global community, with programs like Shoulder-to-Shoulder, the Tanzania partnership, and the Foster Elementary Spanish program, and other travel abroad opportunities. There were also booths set up to further educate attendees on the many ongoing global projects at ESD.
Global Night was mainly to inform parents and potential families on ESD’s involvement in global programs and to share the ways that compassion and empathy-building supports brain function, leading to more well-adjusted and fulfilling lives. The Global Competency blog team's very own editor, Jiaying Fu '21 (left) and writer, Mary Cowser '21 (right) were there to represent the blog and their involvement with the ESD's sister school over the years.
