At the end of last month, Father Rich Towers shared that he will be leaving to serve as Chaplain at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, Florida. After his departure, the search began for a new Lower School Chaplain to join ESD in the fall of 2019.

For the upcoming 2018-19 school year, we are pleased to announce that Father Michael Harmuth, who previously served as ESD Lower School Chaplain for 16 years, will return to the St. Michael and All Angels Colgate Campus as our Interim Lower School Chaplain. He will serve in a one-year, part-time role as chaplain and will also teach the fourth-grade religion class.

Beginning this fall, all PreK through fourth-grade students and teachers will attend Daily Chapel in St. Michael's main sanctuary every day from 8:10 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Father Harmuth will also teach the fourth-grade religion class following morning chapel. Half-day and full-day Beginners will have their own service of daily worship in the St. Michael Chapel at 11:40 a.m. with our Senior Chaplain, Reverend Heller.  

We are so grateful for Father Towers' three years of ministry among us. We wish him all God's blessings as he begins a new ministry, and we look forward to welcoming Father Harmuth home.
