ESD's faculty and staff participated in the annual in-service tradition of volunteering at Children's Hunger Fund.
“I am preparing lives that will go out from the classroom, reach out to the community, and stand out in the world.” -ESD Manifesto
Nearly all of ESD's faculty and staff came together for our annual in-service tradition to honor our manifesto by volunteering together at the Children's Hunger Fund (CHF). CHF offers care to young people who are food insecure. On Wednesday morning, ESD's faculty and staff filled 1,086 Food Pak boxes that will be delivered to children in the community.
“Community Service is woven into the fabric of who we are as an ESD community,” said Director of Community Service Learning Courtney Phelps. “As a part of our Episcopal Identity, it is important that as faculty and staff, we start our year off by being examples of what we would expect of our students.”
“Serving together during in-service is a great way not only to live out our mission but build community with ourselves and those we serve,” said Phelps.
