ESD would like to welcome Erma Bryant as our new Head Girls Basketball Coach/Program Director. Erma brings over 10 years of dedicated coaching experience at the high school and club levels and was a TAPPS 6A State Champion while serving as an assistant on the staff at John Paul II High School last season.

While earning her bachelor's degree in marketing, Erma was a member of the women's basketball program at Liberty University. After the conclusion of her competitive career, she began coaching at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison before head coaching stints at Ursuline Academy and Coram Deo Academy. Erma added another piece of hardware to her collection at Prestonwood Christian Academy, where she served as an assistant on the TAPPS 6A Runner-Up. In addition to coaching, Erma stays involved with the game of basketball through the NTX Roots Basketball Club, which she founded in 2018, and through her time officiating with the Carrollton/Farmers Branch and North Texas Basketball Officials Associations. Erma currently serves as the Athletic Director at St. Mark’s Catholic School in Plano, TX.

From the moment we first connected, it was quite apparent why she was the right fit for our program," said Dan Gill, Director of Athletics. "Additionally, Erma has an enthusiasm for cultivating relationships, developing student- athletes and teaching the game of basketball. I am confident she will continue to help us build a highly competitive and deeply connected program that is aligned with ESD’s mission." 

Away from the court, Erma is married to husband Albert, and together they have 6 children, Deja (25), Naomi (21), Niyah (15), Isabella (13), Gabriel (8) and Isaiah (6).
