Welcome to Back-to-School Night 2020

Navigating Virtual Back-to-School Night

We are pleased to share our virtual Back to School Night modeled after virtual events last spring. Each teacher and advisor has created special videos highlighting a little bit about themselves and what to expect in the classroom.

Viewing Tips:

1. Confirm your child's schedule in the parent portal, making note of the names of your child's teachers

2. Start with your child's advisor's welcome

3. Continue through your child's schedule by returning to this page following each video

On behalf of all of us here, thank you for your continued support. We can’t wait to see our students back in the hallways next week!

A Message from Dave Baad,
Head of School

Meet Your Child's Advisor

ESD's Advisory Program is a cornerstone of the day-to-day life of middle and upper school students. It was built on our founder Father Swann's belief that within a larger community, there should be small, intimate groups where everyone felt accepted, where the power of cliques is minimized, and where adults shepherd students through these pivotal years. Middle school advisory groups change each year.

Meet Your Child's Teachers

ESD's middle school provides students with a supportive environment where they explore and develop their own intellectual, creative, and physical abilities while being a part of a community anchored in honor, respect, and integrity. As a college preparatory school, our commitment to academic rigor is a given. Our commitment to community, service, and integrity is what makes us ESD.

ESD’s gifted faculty and staff are the backbone of our institution and paramount to the school’s success. They are committed to inspiring, developing, and sustaining excellence, and are deftly able to balance the rigors of a college-preparatory environment with nurture and compassion.
