The Fulbright International Exchange Program recently honored two ESD alumni. Fulbright Scholarships are merit-based scholarships that offer opportunities for American scholars to conduct research, lecture, and/or consult with other scholars and institutions abroad.
Evan Alterman ’04 will be spending the next year in Russia. “Evan has always had a great love and respect for academia," Evan's mother said. "This is in no small part due to the outstanding influence ESD has played in his life. Every one of his teachers, and even some of the faculty who never formally taught him, were so important to him... and to Hank and myself, as well. Each of you played a part in Evan’s accomplishments, including this latest one, and we are so deeply grateful.”
Matthew Alexander ’08 has also been offered a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Germany next year. He graduated from Wesleyan University with high honors in May, and spent several months of his college experience studying abroad. Matthew will work as an English teaching assistant at a German High School just outside of Leipzig, Germany.
