
Congratulations to the Upper School Botball Team for finishing 5th in the world at the Global Conference on Educational Robotics at the International Botball Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii. Fifty-six teams from the United States, Europe, and the Middle East participated in the four day event held at the Hawaii Convention Center from July 18 - July 22, 2012.
After finishing 6th during the seeding rounds and being only one of 16 undefeated teams going into Sunday's finals, the team finished 5th in head-to-head competition. Awards and accolades won by the ESD team include:
• Trophy for fifth place overall
• Trophy for Outstanding Onsite Presentation
• Certificate for Judge's Choice Award: Most Promising Design
• Certificate for being a finalist
ESD students participating were Renner Brown '15, Paul Cahoon '15, Alexander Eggers '15, Jared Eichner '15, Armand Fernandez-Pierre '14, and Roger Wong '15. They are coached by Deb Goudy and Cameron Christensen. Armand and Paul sang the National Anthem to open the awards ceremony.
