ESD Curriculum Overview
In 1974, a group of Episcopalian Dallas civic leaders met to discuss the beginning stages of a new, coeducational, independent school grounded in the Episcopal educational tradition. Determined to transcend existing academic models, the group envisioned a school community where children could be nurtured in faith and embraced as powerful, decisive individuals. It was this tenacious, pioneering spirit that gave rise to Episcopal School of Dallas and the tradition of excellence that is its hallmark.
Excellence and growth are key goals of the School’s curriculum. Students are expected to extend themselves beyond mediocrity and reach their full potential in all of their courses. We ask the same of our teachers, who provide critical guidance as students discover their own particular strengths and interests.
By carefully integrating academic programs, ESD manages the education of a child as a college-bound student from Beginners through grade 12. Using learning activities for each grade level, the School provides children and young adults with a dynamic educational experience. Our curriculum presents how these components blend and forms the recipe we feel is essential in helping our students incorporate a tradition of excellence and enter the colleges or universities that will best meet their needs.
