Over the weekend, two ESD music students competed in the Texas Private School Music Educators Association Instrumental Solo & Ensemble Contest at Greenhill School.
Tarushi Mittal ’18, who plays snare drum, and Tarun Mittal ’20, who plays alto saxophone, performed pieces rated as a Grade 1, indicating that these are pieces with the highest level of difficulty.
Tarun was accompanied by Mr. Snyder, and earned a Level 1 ("Superior") Rating for his performance, and received very high praise from the judge. This high achievement has earned him an invitation to compete at the Statewide Solo & Ensemble Contest at Fort Worth Country Day at the end of May. Tarushi earned a Level 2 ("Very good') Rating for her performance, receiving high praise from the judge as well.
Congratulations to both students on their musical achievements!
