On Saturday, March 1, 14 members of ESD’s rowing team raced in the Heart of Texas Regatta, a 1,000 meter sprint race held on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas. Hosted by the Austin Rowing Club since 1983, this event has grown to include more than 1,400 competitors from high schools, clubs, and collegiate programs from across the country. The Eagles had a strong showing at their first race of the spring season, and finished second overall in the point per entry standings for junior events.

Of the seven boats that placed in the top six and advanced to the finals, four boats medaled.

The season continues with the Bachman Lake Annual Sprint Trials in Dallas on April 6.
